Return To Your Creator!

The whole world is stuck by a global pandemic called Covid-19. The beginning of this year 2020 we have all set plans and goals for our professional and personal life; everything is stuck by an invisible virus. Great nations and leaders of all over the world are trying their best to get rid this pandemic, and bring back normality. During this catastrophic time, we often heard and said, “why has all this happened to us?” “Why has Lord let this happen to us?”. We are having a companion from the Bible, who asked the same question before an Angel of the Lord, “If God is with us, why has all this happened to us?” Jud 6:12. He is none other than the warrior Gideon. When we read Judges 6th chapter, we could find “why” God let Israelites suffer under Midianites. Nobody escaped from the eyes of our heavenly father who not only watching us but also sees our hearts. When we started doing things which God dislikes, HE let us wander without HIS guidance.

“Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years HE gave them into the hands of the Midianites. Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters in mountain clefts, caves, and strongholds” Jud 6: 1,2

When Midianists Surmounted over Israelites, they hide themselves on the mountains, caves and strongholds. Disgusting behaviours of humans triggers God’s anger. We all may have a doubt: how can a loving God punish HIS children?

God punishes HIS chosen people when they disobeyed HIM. The first couple’s disobedience made God to banish them from the garden of Eden. From this, we came to know God’s hands punish whenever HIS people disappoint HIM. When Jesus Christ entered into the temple in Jerusalem and found HIS house was turned as market; HE became furious and said “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’ but you have made it ‘a den of robbers’” Mat 11:16. Bible has recorded God’s anger when HIS people disobeyed and disappoint HIM.

Amalekites and Midianists ravaged Israelites’ cattle and ruined their crops. When Israelites cried to God for help, HE sent them a prophet to provide an answer for their cry for help.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. I snatched you from the power of Egypt and from the hand of all you oppressors. I drove them from before and gave you their land. I said to you ‘I am the Lord your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live’. But you have not listened to me” Jud 6:7-10

Disobedience of the Israelites arose God’s anger; God let enemies raise against Israelites to ravage and ruin their toil. Many years ago God miraculously brought Israelites out from slavery and oppressions of Egyptians; This loving and ever concerning God always wanted them to worship HIM alone. But the Israelites, who witnessed God’s marvellous deeds in favour of them during 40 yrs of wilderness, forgot to remain thankful to God. They forgot to obey God’s commandments; God only wish was to them, is worship HIM alone but they followed other gods of their surroundings. By this God’s anger burned against them.

“ So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today- to love the Lord your God and serve HIM with all your heart and with all your soul- I will send rain in your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle and you will eat and be satisfied. Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. Then the Lord’s anger will burn against you,…… “
Deu 11:13-16

When life was going smooth to Israelites, they followed the gods of the land they were living but when life took tough paths, they cry for help to God of Heaven. We too are like Israelites most often, we remember to pray to God only when life got tough or things got worse, don’t we?
Are we satisfied with our life which God has given to us? If not, the problem lies on us. Aren’t we worship God with all our hearts and souls? The word “worship” means ‘to pray to and show respect for God / to love or admire somebody or something very much’. Most often we worship our bosses to get promotion or increments. We please and adore the people who are close to our hearts. We praise the electronic gadgets we have, yet we always ashamed to share our testimony and God’s goodness during our toughest time with our friends and family. We may a name-sake Christians. What does make you to serve your God as personal saviour? You may tell that the same God your parents follow as well as your grandparents. Have you ever asked them, ‘why’ and ‘what’ made them to follow the Lord of Heaven and earth personally?

During our life journey, we came across God’s miraculous deeds so often. Have we ever thank God for HIS master-plan to plant us on this earth? We may notice God’s hand brought us out from the hand of oppressors: on workplace, colleagues, neighbour, even from our oppressive relatives, and brought us out from slavery or bondage. On times, we might have witnessed God’s marvellous deeds to land us on a safe-hold. It might have happened years ago but have we ever be thankful to God for saving miraculously from slavery and oppression?

The God who created the whole Universe, created us and HE is having a divine purpose for our existence. The last whole century we humans debated and argued about “science Vs God”. Consequence of this we underwent Conflicts and started following our path instead of God’s will or God’s commands. Results of such conflicts reflect in our personal day to day life; we made ourselves busy and even busier not even having time to thank our Creator. This Coronavirus, invisible enemy, make the world understand that there is a power greater than the science and technology.

Our busyness and plans for our future are stuck by a global pandemic. We are all having second thoughts about our near future. We are running into a doubtful tomorrow’s and we are all pulling ourselves to adopt ‘New Normal’. We are confusing ourselves whether we will get our normality back or not. These sort of worrying bring forth mental illness so keep in mind. It is the best time to Reunite with our Creator. 2 king17:38,39 reveals,

“Do not forget the covenant I have made with you and do not worship other gods: Rather, worship the Lord your God; it is HE who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies “

Let us all turn to God and cry out for help. God who enthrones in Heaven alone can deliver us from this invisible enemy Covid-19. whenever our hearts and minds weary during quarantine, Remind ourselves the verse of Psalmist

“I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from? My help comes from the maker of heaven and earth” Ps 121:1,2

Let us hopefully awaits!!!
Our help is on the way from Heaven!!
